On the Dutch colonial period, the agricultural affairs are handled by van Landbouw Department (1905), Nijverheid en hendel (1911), and van Ekonomische Zaken Department (1934). Meanwhile, during the Japan colonialism, Gunseikanbu Sangyobu involved in addressing agricultural affairs. After the proclamation of independence, the formation of cabinets, namely:
